Here are a few photos from a recording session with Dilia Jelen: (Click image view the album)
We recently recorded a bunch of jams (early improvised stages of songs).
We usually build off of a guitar loop, play on it for a while, and end up with a new song.
Here are two clips from one of the songs:
Aldous freestyling, Matt jamming on guitar -- the early stages of a new song…
Matt experiments with a new song, Aldous and Juan have a conversation in the background…
Who’s featured on the new album?
Our friends Vanessa and Dilia.
Vanessa Rubio: Singer
We always enjoy working with Vanessa; she is laid back, open, and willing to experiment (no matter how crazy our idea is). Her ability to sing low, high, and everywhere in-between makes layering options almost infinite. Along with being featured on the new album, Vanessa has been collaborating with us on a collection of new songs for her upcoming EP.
Dilia Jelen: Singer
Dilia has one of the most powerful voices we’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. People like her make us uncomfortably aware of how painfully flimsy our own voices really are. When you sing a line to her, she sings it right back at you note for note (except this time it sounds incredible and you don’t get the disclaimer: “well, this really isn’t in my vocal range…”).
Aldous and I have been working on a new album for the past year and are very excited about finishing it up. We are currently in the process of mixing it and will announce the release date soon.
